Portable Propane Heaters

Propane Gas Heaters

Propane Gas Heaters

There are 2 types of propane heaters – each one works differently, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The most common type of heater for outdoor use – on patios etc, is now radiant heaters. These give out infra-red to warm objects (such as you! And other items in your garden) and not the air itself. These typically show a red glow and are much quieter then other heaters, and have better energy efficiency, which saves you money, and reduces the amount of propane needed – making it heat for longer.

Another popular type of garden/patio heater uses forced-air – using a fan to blow hot air out of the heater (imagine a large hair dryer), these can be noisy, but do output heat fast. It can also push the odor of the propane down onto the people sitting around the heater.

The typical patio propane heater can distribute heat 15feet around the heater, and have safety features such as safety cut off – if the flame goes out, the propane will stop, and a cut off should the heater fall over.
